Notes

  • London-based music publisher. Instrument maker Robert Keith set up a commercial business in 1780 and established a music publishing company in 1830 with new business partner William Prowse.

By the 1950s, as music publishing declined, the company became primarily a theatre ticket selling agency. In 1955 the publishing operations were sold to London commercial television franchise, Associated-Rediffusion. The EMI group bought Keith Prowse Music Publishing from Associated-Rediffusion in 1969.
