BiographyHistory

J. Galliard Barker was the son of early Queensland squatter William Barker, of Tamrookum Station, on the Upper Logan River. As a child, he might have been taught by J. Brunton Stephens (q.v.)., who was briefly employed as a tutor at Tamrookum. He was a cousin of Rosa Praed (q.v.).
