BiographyHistory

Afrodity Giannakis grew up in Greece but returned to Australia when she was 23 years of age. She studied linguistics and French at the University of New South Wales, gaining B.A. Honours Class 1 and the University Medal in both subjects, before completing a Diploma in Education at the University of Sydney. Her work was highly commended in the National Short Story Competition organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of Sydney and New South Wales as part of their centenary celebrations.
