BiographyHistory

Helen Asher was born in Bytom in Silesia, formerly a part of Germany, but now in Poland. After arriving in Australia with her husband in the 1950s, she found work in hotels and factories. Asher's writing in English developed after a long apprenticeship. Her preferred form is the novel and she has published some short fiction in anthologies and periodicals.
