Notes

  • This agent appears to have been the journalist Henry Haggard, who worked at the Brisbane Telegraph during the 1880s. He died suddenly at his home at Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, in August 1889. Research suggests that Haggard was the son of the English antiquarian and economist, William Debonaire Haggard (1787?-1866), who was for many years connected with the Bank of England, in London.
