BiographyHistory

Roger Bourke is a freelance journalist and non-fiction writer. He was born in Rochdale, Lancashire, studied English at St John's College in the University of Cambridge, and migrated to Perth in 1989. He published his first book, Prisoners of the Japanese: Literary Imagination and the Prisoner-of-War Experience, in 2006.Subsequently he began researching and writing a second, The Savants and the Surgeon: The True Story of the Feral Girl Marie-Angelique.
