BiographyHistory

Born in London, Diana Simmonds grew up in Kenya before returning to London to work in a variety of jobs. She became a full-time writer in 1977, contributing to magazines such as Time Out and City Limits, before moving to Australia in 1985. Based in Sydney, she has written for the Sydney Morning Herald, The Bulletin, The Australian and the Sunday Telegraph. Best-known as an art critic and commentator for these publications, she has also written several novels, and books on Princess Diana and Doris Day.
