BiographyHistory

Rod Barton came to Australia with his family in the mid-1950s and settled in Elizabeth, South Australia. He graduated from university with a degree in microbiology and moved to Canberra to work in the Patents Office. In the early 1970s he shifted to the Department of Defence and spent many years within Australia's defence intelligence system. In 1991 Barton was recruited by the United Nations as a weapons inspector for Iraq.
