Alan Wardrope was a writer and journalist before becoming the director of advertising and publicity for Paramount Pictures in the early 1960s. He then worked in the film industry for many years, travelling to America, London and South-East Asia. He was also the director of marketing for the Australian Film Commission during the 1970s. He has written scripts and produced and directed for television. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Australian Film and Television School. He now lives near Sydney, Australia.
