Wolfgang Görtschacher has been Associate Professor at the University of Salzburg teaching literary criticism and translation studies. He has been the owner-director of the press Poetry Salzburg, edited the magazine Poetry Salzburg Review, and works as literary critic, translator, editor, and publisher.
