BiographyHistory

Brenda Parkes holds a BA in education from the University of Queensland, a Master of Education in reading from the University of Arizona, and a PhD in education from the University of Wollongong.

She has taught in New Zealand and Australia and spent twenty years as a teacher educator at Griffith University and has worked as a literacy consultant for early childhood programs in Australia and the United States of America.

Her publications include Read It Again! Revisiting Shared Reading (2000) and also Exploring Informational Texts: From Theory to Practice (2003), co-edited with Linda Hoyt and Margaret Mooney. She has also published teaching resources and readers in many series for various publishers.
