Archimede Fusillo was born of Italian parents in Australia. A speaker of Italian, he has published in English. He gained a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours in Psychology and a Diploma of Secondary Education. He has worked as a teacher and features writer. He has been a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW) and of the Victorian Writers Centre.
He has won many awards for his work, including the 1984 FAW Young Playwright Award. He was shortlisted for the 1985 Penguin Young Writer's Award; highly commended in the 1986 R. Carson Bursary Awards, and shortlisted in 1988 in the The Age Short Story Award, the 1991 Eltham Short Story Award and the Imago Short Story Award. His work was read on the Writers Program on Radio 3RPH in 1987 and he has read for Famous Reporter in 1987, Outrider Writings in 1988 and Verandah Readings in 1989.
