Beginning her career with the Metropolitan Theatre in Sydney, actress and theatre biographer Lynne Murphy has been an experienced performer in radio, stage, television and film productions. With her knowledge of the theatre and a personal collection of 'a great data-bank' of research, Murphy has also contributed to the Currency Press publication, Companion to Theatre in Australia (1995).
In 1981, Murphy married the noted scriptwriter Richard Lane (q.v.).
