Chris Garrett was born in England before emigrating to Australia with his parents. He grew up in Bargara near Bundaberg, Queensland, and in 1985 he moved to Brisbane, where he worked in hospitality and later in Information Technology. His first novel, Thomas Strange and the Forgotten Past, was published in 2004.
