BiographyHistory

James Hadley Chase was one of the pseudonyms used by the English writer, Rene Brabazon Raymond. Raymond was born in London and in his lifetime he wrote over eighty crime and thriller novels, many of which were hugely popular in Asia, Africa, Italy and France, as well as English-speaking countries. Twenty of his novels were turned into feature films in France and Italy. No Orchids for Miss Blandish, Lady Here's Your Wreath, and The Dead Stay Dumb were all banned in Australia between the 1930s and 1950s.
