BiographyHistory

Dora Behmoiras migrated from Turkey to France with her family in 1925. At the age of thirty-nine she gave birth to her daughter, Josiane Behmoiras. Some years later she resigned from her job as a receptionist and moved from Paris to Montpellier. From the latter city she was deported to Israel in 1961. The final years of Behmoiras's life were spent as a bag lady on the streets of Tel Aviv.
