BiographyHistory

New York book club publisher. In 1928 Plymouth Publishing was incorporated under its founder's name. In 1941 Black organised a subscription service of cheap editions, the "Classics Club"; this was followed by the Detective Book Club which offered a three-mystery omnibus to subscribers each month (1972). Other 'librarys' include Zane Grey, Ellery Queen and Erle Stanley Garnder.
