BiographyHistory

'Marnie Kennedy was born on the banks of Coppermine Creek in western Queensland. She grew up on Palm Island "under the Act" which dominated the lives of Aboriginal people in Queensland. During her life she worked on cattle stations throughout the north. As a half-caste woman she wrote about her life experiences in the hope that white people would come to know and understand the plight of others in her circumstances.' Source: Publisher's blurb
