Peter Docker was born in Narrogin, WA, the son of a motor mechanic, and grew up on remote Lort River Station, Coomalbidgup. He studied writing at Curtin University, Perth, and acting at The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. As well as an extensive career on stage, Peter Docker has produced full-length literary works, has written for stage and radio, and has published short stories.
Docker lives in the Kimberley, WA, and continues to write about the no man’s land where black and white Australia meet. He writes about the coming together, or not, of the truth and the lies in Australia, about Australia's search for its truth, about the myriad of ways that anyone can look into their heart - and find love. Through this, he tells a bigger story.
