BiographyHistory

Lockie Bin Sali's father was a deep-water pearl diver who died of the bends when Bin Sali was very young. His Bardi mother took him to Sunday Island. He became a pearl diver and lugger pilot and was in Broome during World War Two where, in charge of an Australian Navy vessel, he witnessed the Japanese bombing of Roebuck Bay.
