Agnes Mary Hardman grew up in Tasmania's north-east where her father had a sheep farm. She later lived in Launceston and Devonport. On 23 December, 1916, she married educator William Charles (Carl) Morris (q.v.) She was the grandmother of Hobart poet,
Mary Blackwood, and Chair of the Hamilton Literary Society in Hobart. Morris also wrote
