BiographyHistory

Marion Hume studied at the University of Exeter. From 1985 she worked as a journalist reporting on the fashion industry. In 1997 she was appointed editior-in-chief of Vogue Australia. After a controversial 18 months, during which she criticised aspects of the Australian fashion industry of the time, she was sacked from the magazine in 2000 and left for New York. From 2000 to 2002 Hume wrote for various publications including The Australian newspaper. After 2002 Hume became an Australian citizen, freelanced and wrote her first novel The Fashion Pack.
