Muriel Olssen was taken with her sisters and cousins from her mother in 1936. She grew up in Colebrook Home in Oodnadatta, Quorn and Adelaide. A nurse, she helped establish the Pika Wiya Health Service in Port Augusta. With her husband and children she lived in Sweden for some years returning to live in Quorn, Port Augusta and Adelaide where she worked as a trainee producer with the Aboriginal and Islander Media Association. She re-established contact with her mother in 1968.
