BiographyHistory

Stephen Measday and Mark Stow-Smith founded Ganesh Publishing in response to a concern that there were too few publishing opportunities for emerging authors. After a year's groundwork during which they became involved in book distribution in Adelaide, they launched their first and only two books at the Adelaide Festival of Arts in April 1976: Stelarc by the author of the same name, and Cataclysm by Roy Preston. Following a year of low sales and financial difficulties, the publishers closed the press in April 1977.
