BiographyHistory

George W. Jacobs and Company specialised in publishing juvenile literature in series. It also published genre fiction such as westerns, mysteries and stories for young women, including some novels by Australian writer Doris Egerton Jones. In 1925 the firm was purchased by Durant L. Macrae and Allan M. Smith and became the Macrae Smith Company.
