BiographyHistory

Poet, children's author and scientist, Marjory O'Dea worked at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) as Special Assistant to the Chief of the Division of Plant Industry, as the Senate's Committee Secretariat, and she has been a director in the Departments of Science, Industry, Commerce and Tourism. In 1980, she was responsible for producing Australia's first Science Statement. O'Dea has also written Ian Clunies Ross: A Biography (1997) about the first chairman of the CSIRO.
