BiographyHistory

Actor, writer, composer, teacher. Following his association with Dutch theatre group KISS (1983-1984), Tom Lycos found work in Australia with numerous theatre companies, including Sidetrack Theatre, Arena, Circus Oz, Melbourne Workers Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company, Burning House and Griffin Theatre. In 1996 he teamed up with Zeal Theatre founder Stefo Nantsau, to write and perform one of the company's biggest successes, The Stones. The play has been performed more than 850 times in Australia, Europe, North America and Asia, and in early 2006 played a three week season on Broadway. He later collaborated with Nantsou in devising Fixin Bart & Maggie (1998), Mouse (2000) and Side Effects (2002).

Lycos's acting credits also include numerous musicals (notably Buddy and Return to the Forbidden Planet), having a principle role in Jane Campion's 1989 film, Sweetie, and being cast in numerous television ads and shows, including Home and Away. As a theatre teacher he spealises in acrobatics.
