BiographyHistory

Richard Pape was a journalist, PR consultant and motor racing driver. Having fought in the Second World War, he received the Military Medal, the Polish Air Force Eagle, the Dutch Order of Merit, the Resistance Commemoration Cross of the Netherlands and the USA Antarctic Service Medal. He was also the author of numerous autobiographical works, including Boldness Be My Friend (1953), an account of his escape from a German concentration camp during the Second World War. It sold more than two million copies. Pape's first two novels were published before he arrived in Australia.
