BiographyHistory

American publisher Norman Munro, 1844-1896, brother of publisher George Munro, founded the New York Family Story Paper and Munro's Magazine. In direct competition with his brother, his other publishing ventures in the cheap fiction market included the dime novel series Riverside Library and the Munro Library, published from 1884 in a pocket size. In 1888 Norman Munro sold the Munro Library to James Lovell, but the company continued other avenues of publication until its demise in 1921.
