BiographyHistory

Jack Mirritji was born in Warngibimirri and grew up in Japirdijapin in north-eastern Arnhem Land. Mirritji belongs to the Balang skin group and Jinang people. Mirritji experienced a traditional upbringing and didn't come into contact with non-Indigenous Australians until he walked to Derby in Western Australia when he was a teenager.
