BiographyHistory

Louis Rhead came from a family of English artists. He studied in Paris, and migrated to America in 1888. He was at the forefront of the American art nouveau movement, and is remembered for his poster work for the New York Sun and the Journal as well as his lithographic work for Century and Scribners, and his book illustrations.
