BiographyHistory

R. H. Russell published original illustrations by many well-known artists in its editions of illustrated classics and art books. The firm was the first publisher of the Adam Lindsay Gordon (q.v.) collection Racing Rhymes and Other Verses, produced in an edition in 1901 illustrated by Louis Rhead (q.v.).

The firm was purchased by Harper and Brothers in 1903.
