In 1585, William Shakespeare, 21 years old, married with three children, left his home in Stratford-on-Avon. There is no record of him until seven years later, in 1592, when he emerged in London as a promising playwright with the staging of his trilogy, Henry VI, parts 1-3.

In February 1587, a Spanish carrack, the San Pietro, was wrecked on the North Queensland coast on a voyage of exploration south from Batavia. The only survivor was a 24-year-old Englishman who had been taken aboard the ship one night in London. The next day he woke to find the ship had sailed.

His name was Will Shakespeare.
