BiographyHistory

Talc Alf, or also known as Cornelius Johan Alferink, a Dutch born, self taught talc sculptor, artist, poet, and bush philosopher has carved himself a place in outback art and modern history. Born in Baarn, Holland, Alf migrated at a young age to Western Australia where he was brought up on a dairy farm. In 1960, he left home to explore Australia. As a geologist's assistant he discovered talc and found it to be perfect for his hobby, sculpture. He married in 1974, and they settled at Lyndhurst in South Australia, where he established an outdoor art gallery for his works in talc.
