'Ralph worked in New Zealand universities for fourteen years before taking up [a] position at the University of Tasmania in 2004. He has degrees from the University of Wales, Swansea, the University of Victoria, Canada, and the University of Tasmania. He has written or edited over 20 books, as well as numerous book chapters, and refereed journal articles.
