After working as journalist in Sydney for several years, Lynne Minion returned to study and completed a Masters in international relations and public affairs. In 2002 she moved to Dili, East Timor, to live and work for a time. (Her autobiography, Hello Missus : A Girl's Own Guide to Foreign Affairs, is based on this period.) Minion has also lived in Iraq and in Canberra.
