Jenny Darling started her career in publishing working in some of
Melbourne's independent bookshops. In 1990 she was employed as
assistant to
Caroline Lurie at Australian Literary Management and in
1993 became manager of the Melbourne office of that agency. Darling has a
particular interest in literary fiction, and worked closely with poet
Dorothy Porter. Darling co-sponsors the award in Porter's honour administered by Meanjin.
Darling is a founding member of the
Australian Literary Agents' Association.
