BiographyHistory

Japanese translator and literary critic Masako Shimizu was born in North Korea and moved to Japan as a child, in 1946. She has taught high school and university English, and is a children's literature scholar. She has translated many works into Japanese, and was on the IBBY honour list for translation in 1994.
