BiographyHistory

In the United Kingdom Philip Chappell worked as an actor in theatre and television drama. He moved to Sydney in the 1970s and has lived on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland with his family since 1990. With playwright John Buris, he co-founded The Independent Theatre of Eumundi, where he was resident directo for eight years. His first play was called 'Miraculous Recovery' and his play 'Welcome to Dreamland', a finalist in the 2004 Queensland Premier's Drama Award, examines the impact of rampant coastal development on the identity of a community.
