BiographyHistory

Harry Heseltine was educated at the University of Western Australia and Louisiana State University. In the 1950s he was editor of The Winthrop Review. Heseltine held academic positions at the University of New England, the University of NSW, and James Cook University (where he was Professor and Executive Director of the Foundation for Australian Literary Studies). He later became Professorial Head of the English Department at the Faculty of Military Studies, RMC, and then Professorial Head (and later Rector, CEO) at University College, ADFA. Heseltine retired in 1996.
