BiographyHistory

Will Ashton migrated to Australia with his parents during the early to mid-1880s. In addition to his career as an artist, which frequently took him overseas for lengthy periods, Ashton also contributed illustrations to the Bulletin and served as Director of the National Art Gallery of New South Wales from 1937 to 1945.
