BiographyHistory

Francis Ravel Harvey has written about Australian theatre and about the Arts generally. He was drama critic for the Canberra Times in and around 1970. He founded the magazines Theatregoer in 1959 and Design Australia for the Design Council of Australia in 1969, and worked for the Australia Council , producing the books Ozarts (1980) and Australia Council: What It Is and What It Does (1981). He was in charge of publications at Macquarie University 1981-1991 and since then has contributed to many magazines including The Bulletin and recently Music Forum. He edited Australian Theatre Year 1959-60

He has also written for performance, including a series Tales of Many Lands for ABC radio in the late 1960s, and episodes for the television series Homicide.
