BiographyHistory

Ngọc-Tuấn Hoàng came to Australia as a refugee after having been held for five and a half years in re-education camps in Vietnam. He has studied at the University of New England and the University of New South Wales and has lectured in music and aesthetics.

In 1987, he founded the Vietnamese language literary journal Tap Hop. In 1997, he was an assistant editor for the literary journal Viet and in 2002 he co-founded TIEN VE, an online centre for Vietnamese Literature and Arts. His critical essays, poems and stories have appeared in most overseas Vietnamese literary journals.

As well as an editor and writer, Hoang is a musician whose work has won prizes and been included in academic programs both in Australia and overseas. (From From the Editors, p. 39).
