BiographyHistory

Lorna's mother was a Kookatha woman and her father a European worker on the east-west railway near the edge of the Nullarbor Plain. Lorna grew up at Oldea when Daisy Bates was living there. Lorna later married her promised husband and they travelled with others from station to station doing casual work and living a semi-traditional life. Lorna is now a widow and grandmother, living in Port Augusta (2007). She still speaks her traditional language, as well as English.
