BiographyHistory

William Westgarth arrived in Australia from England in 1840, and engaged in a very active public life in colonial Victoria. He was a merchant, financier, politician and historian, and a prolific writer of historical and other works on the colonies.
Westgarth returned home to England many times - the last time was in 1888.
