BiographyHistory

Mawer also published works in maritime history including South by Northwest: The Magnetic Crusade and the Contest for Antarctic (2006), Ahab's Trade: The Saga of South Sea Whaling (1999) and Fast Company: The Lively Times and Untimely End of the Clipper Ship Walter Hood 1852-1870 (1994).

Mawer is the son of Granville Allen Mawer (1919-1943) (q.v.).
