BiographyHistory

Angela Moore graduated from NIDA in 1979 and worked for two years with Freewheels Theatre-in-Education in Newcastle before joining the Castanet Club as a musician and comedian where she created the popular character, Shirley Purvis (q.v.). As one of the founding members of the Castanet Club Moore appeared under the pseudonym Betty B. Plate. They performed at the Edinburgh Festival and other overseas venues. Moore also starred in the film, 'The Castanet Club...A Movie You can Dance To'. In 1993 Moore presented the ABC's 'Reading, Writing Road Show' and became a regular presenter with 'Playschool' from 1993 to 2002.
