Myles Lalor grew up in the area of Uralla in New South Wales. His father enlisted in the Australian Army in 1939 and was never heard of again. Lalor spent some time growing up in the notorious Kinchela Aboriginal Boys Home, and was later relocated further away from his family to Menindee.
