BiographyHistory

Leslie Marchant was educated at Perth Boys School. After overseas war service from 1942 to 1946, he studied history at the Universities of Western Australia and Canberra. From there he went to London University School of Oriental and African Studies, specialising in Chinese and Chinese history. He returned to the University of Western Australia to teach in 1960.
