BiographyHistory

Dorothy Napangardi was born in the community of Mina Mina in the Tanami Desert west of Yuendumu, Northern Territory.

In 2001, Napangardi won First Prize at the 18th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards, and in 1991 she was awarded the Museum & Art Gallery Award at the 8th National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award. She was killed in a car accident near Alice Springs.
